The theme for this writing contest is peacemaking. We’re looking for personal stories that involve a non-violent way of resolving a conflict. While an act of peacemaking may begin with two people, we’re interested in acts of conflict resolution that directly affect a larger circle of people as well—in a family, a community, a region, even internationally. We’re looking for previously unpublished creative non-fiction up to 2,500 words in length. Deadline August 1, 2007. The winner will receive $1,000 (or $500 if judges choose two winners).
